Hey guys, Jason here with 303 Insurance Brokers, and I wanted to share another insurance tip of the day with you. This insurance tip is something I hear all the time from so many clients. So I go with the flow with it, but I want to slow down and dissect it over the coverage or the term full coverage car insurance.
Common Question I Get From My Clients
Hey Jason, I want full coverage. However, I don’t want full coverage. Well, what does full coverage mean? And what’s the myth behind it?
Full Coverage Car Insurance Is A Myth
Ultimately, there is no way to offer something for your auto policy called full coverage. What full coverage commonly refers to is whether your vehicle has Comprehensive coverage and collision coverage
Comprehensive VS Collision Coverage
Comprehensive and collision coverage are going to describe the coverages that cover those areas. Collision coverage is going to be an accident. You know what that either you cause, or another car hits you, it’s a vehicle accident or taking your vehicle and having a single-car accident.
But the vehicle is physically driving. It causes a collision that is a collision accident. We also have comprehensive, comprehensive and covers things like hail theft, um, you know, hitting a, an animal. If you have a deer on the road or something like that, vandalism, you know, all of those things encompass your comprehensive coverage.
Full Coverage is Factually Incorrect
You can carry collision and not comprehensive. You can have comprehensive and not collision. There is no terminology called full coverage car insurance, which covers both. But the idea is, uh, you know, whoever came up with this term a long, long time ago is, it’s factually incorrect.
So we can have comprehensive coverage. We can have collision coverage, but we can’t have full coverage if that makes sense. But if you have any questions about your insurance, feel free to reach out to me, Jason@my303insurance.com or 3035062755. Thanks, and have a great day. Bye.
