Summertime’s happening. We’re coming out of this COVID pandemic. There are going to be a lot of weddings and other special events that start to happen again. I’m gonna talk about event insurance.

Can I Use My Home Insurance To Cover An Event?

A lot of those wedding venues may ask for special event insurance. How does it work? In some cases, can you use your homeowner’s insurance to cover it? Do you need your home insurance policy? And the answer to those is yes, and there are several different options we can go with when it comes to special event.

Home Insurance VS Event Insurance

Often, we can use the liability coverage of your homeowner’s insurance for a special one-off event if it’s a wedding, if it’s a family event, as long as it’s not something that we make money off of. If it’s something you’re making money off of, that becomes a business event adventure. It would be best if you had special insurance for the event.

Why Use Liability Insurance For An Event Over Home Insurance

But even instead of using the home policy, I recommend liability insurance for an event because it will cover liquor liability, which is the most important thing that it covers are liquor liability. Somebody has too much alcohol. You don’t think you get behind the wheel of a car, they make a poor decision, but then they decide they want to hold you responsible for it.

How Much Is Does Liability Insurance for An Event Cost?

Especially liability insurance for an event usually is pretty cheap. It’s a couple of hundred bucks. When you think about the entire budget of a wedding, of a special event, it’s not that much, et cetera.
