 It’s summertime, and people are travelling, taking vacations away from their home, sometimes multiple week vacations. Upwards of a month, it’s a great time of year to do that sort of thing.

4 Security Tips To Keep Your Home Safe

People are working remotely. There are a couple of smart ways to keep your home safe, things you can do if you’re leaving your home for an extended summer vacation. 

1. The first one is you want a good close neighbor or friend. You’d like to keep an eye on your house. You make sure that they know that you’re not there. If there’s any suspicious activity going on, 
2. It’s also good to have somebody that would go in and check your house a couple of times. Especially if you’re going to be gone more than a week, 
3. The last thing you want is a water issue or a burst pipe or something that causes water to flow out or sit in your basement. So it’s a brilliant idea. You’ll make sure that somebody is not only checking your mail, checking the outside of your houses. You keep an eye on it, but also, they’re getting into your home and making sure that everything is. 
4. What, if the weather, it looks like there’s going to be rain in the forecast, turn off your sprinkler system for a week, turn off your water. It may prevent some of that stuff from happening but be safe, have a fun summer.

Keep A Good Relationship With Your Neighbors

Make sure you don’t come back from a vacation to either you got a house that’s been broken into or a home where you have standing water somewhere in the house. You had a leak, something like that. You can do a lot of preventative things just by having a good run relationship with your neighbors.
