local insurance agent

I’ve talked before about the difference between a local independent insurance agent and a captive agent.

What Is A Captive Agent?

Captive agents work for a single insurance company, while an independent agent does not work for a specific insurance company but may instead sell policies from various companies.

In many cases, the insurance company can force its captive agents to sell specific policies to comply with certain sales quotas, which is often not the best product for the client.

What Is A Local Independent Insurance Agent?

The ability of the independent agent to go out and shop multiple insurance carriers. As independent insurance agents, we have a better opportunity to represent the best interest of our clients. Because instead of matching you to an insurance company, I’m matching you to the best insurance companies that I have partnerships with, which is just a win-win situation, in my opinion.

The Benefits of Using A Local Insurance Agent

I came across a client recently that said, Jason, I’m already using an independent agent, so you know we still have the conversation. He still sent me over his insurance documents, and we looked at it, and his independent agent is in Atlanta, Georgia. So while he is using an independent agent to get the best rates, he’s losing out on many other features of having a local agent.

I need to rephrase how I talk about being an independent agent and a local independent insurance agent. What does that mean?

  1. It means that only do I get to shop for you for the best prices upfront.
  2. Still, I also have you know local relationships with roofing companies, restoration companies, and other folks that you may need to encounter to help with your home situation.
  3. In addition, I’ve got connections with realtors and mortgage lenders, CPAs, and I’m happy to connect you into my network to make sure that your problem is solved.
  4. Whereas you had somebody from Atlanta, Georgia, selling a policy in Colorado, they can’t help with the claims. They can give you an 800 claims number which defeats the purpose of having that agent if they can’t help out in your local community.

I serve the Denver metro area. I serve the front range of Colorado. He has my primary areas, and I’ve got great relationships with folks there. So, if I can help you as a local independent insurance agent, reach out to me and let me know. Reach out to me at Jason@my303Insurance.com or 303-506-2755, and we’ll talk to you soon.
