Property Damage

The holiday season is just around the corner, and you know what? It is a great time of the year to work on your trees. Property damage from fallen trees is pretty common. There’s a great tree treatment service getting some good work done for one of my neighbors, which made me think of today’s tip.

Best Time For Tree Treatment

Due to the cold weather trees are dormant. There are no leaves on them. When hiring a great crew, you want to verify and make sure that they have proper insurance for the work that they are doing. This time of year is the best time to get your trees trimmed and prune, especially if they’re starting to look a little bit damaged.

Avoid Property Damage Caused By Trees

Tree maintenance and tree care are super important. Insurance companies can be particular around tree care. So it’s important to look at your trees. It’s also important to look at your neighbor’s trees. If your neighbor has a tree that is dying or looks like it’s dying, and you don’t ever talk to them about it.

While homeowners cannot prevent damage to their properties with each storm, homeowners are the first line of defense to protect their properties. As a result, the insurance companies refused home insurance claims if they found that the owners had not taken care of their environment, including the trees, to prevent property damage.

Your Neighbours Tree is Dying

As a homeowner or as somebody who oversees property where trees are present, you must regularly assess the health of your trees.

What if a branch falls off of and hits your home. Your home insurance is typically responsible for covering the damage, not your neighbors. Now, if your neighbor has a tree that is dying. It’s leaning. It looks old. It doesn’t look safe, we can contact that neighbor and warn them that if damage does come from the tree that they will be liable for it.

Protect Your House From Falling Trees And Branches

After a strong wind, heavy snow, or ice, make sure to check your trees for any damaged. Check for broken or crooked branches and debris in the tree. If a small branch is damaged and you can easily reach it, you can try to get rid of it yourself. But for any large damaged branch or any time you need to mount a ladder to get to the tree, it’s time to call an expert. You could cause further damage or injury to the tree. It’s impossible to tell how a tree is going to fall.

So, if you have any questions on how tree insurance works, it’s kind of crazy, it’s different. It’s not only the tree’s fault, but it’s the condition of the tree.
